Wine Fining is an ancient practice in which a material that aids clarification is added to the wine. The main processes involved are adsorption, chemical reaction and adsorption, and possibly physical movement.
Fined wines is considered important because by fining the wine, the wine is less likely to become hazy or cloudy after bottling and therefore more visually appealing. Fining also removes hydrogen sulfide and bitter flavors.
Although the wineries are very passionate about believing that after the they are through with the fining process, the wine fining agents are removed, people with autoimmune diseases who’s triggers are the allergen used, it can cause terrible reactions that can last for weeks.
